DROA and LNOA scam letters

The companies "Domain Registry of America" ("DROA") and "Liberty Names of America" ("LNOA") make a practice of sending out letters which look like invoices, informing you that your domain name is about to expire and that renewal is necessary. They offer renewals for one year ($30.00), two years ($50.00) and five years ($95.00). If you sign and return the invoice along with payment, DROA/LNOA will take over your domain name's registration, and you will be responsible for paying exorbitant prices to maintain domain name registration. DROA/LNOA are not reputable companies and have been reprimanded by the FTC for misrepresentation. (see this link)

Hilltop recommends that you discard any such items which do not originate directly from Hilltop or your current domain registrar. If you have a question about an invoice, please contact us before responding to the invoice.
Please do not give out any sensitive information related to your account via email or telephone. Hilltop will never contact you asking for any such information!
